CHIEF OIL & GAS HOSTS PUBLIC MEETINGS TO EDUCATE COMMUNITY ABOUT MARCELLUS SHALE

DALLAS, TX (March 11, 2010) – Chief Oil & Gas LLC  ("Chief") recently demonstrated its commitment to open communication by hosting public meetings in Blair and Somerset Counties in Pennsylvania to discuss its plans for Marcellus Shale development.

The meetings included a presentation about the company and its history, an overview of the process of developing the Marcellus Shale and summary of the company’s development plans in the areas. Following the presentation, Chief officials answered questions from meeting attendees, including local residents, business owners, elected officials and environmental activists.

“We host public meetings before drilling in any area,” said Jason de Wolfe, Environmental Affairs Manager at Chief. “We want to ensure our operations are understood by the local residents and to give them an opportunity to air their concerns”.
